The Virtual / Work-From-Home Employee. Sometimes the thought of working with an employee who is not physically present can present a lot of questions: What are they working on? Are they working? Can I count on my projects being completed?

Over my 11 years of being a Recruiter with Creatives On Call (www.creativesoncall.com) I’ve heard a resounding request from candidates for flexibility in their work schedules and where they work. There are many reasons why the virtual or work-from-home (WFH) structure is appealing for employees (it provides a focused and uninterrupted work environment, the ability to work during the most productive hours, no commute, etc) and as more employees seek to find ways to balance their work and home lives the shift for employers to accommodate that is also on the rise.

Luckily, the adoption of new technologies is making this a reality for more employees and employers and I believe we can confidently anticipate that the number of virtual opportunities will also increase.

But what about the appeal for employers? There are fantastic results that come from remote employees and consultants who feel they have control over the projects they take on, when they get the work done, and that they have the trust of their supervisor. Steadily over the last few years the Creatives On Call team has personally witnessed successful, productive, and creative projects come out of virtual partnerships.

…really, the results overall have been astounding!

We have consistently been able to provide sought-after opportunities to our large network of creatives, save our clients thousands of dollars and countless hours, and produce portfolio quality deliverables. In my experience, I can share highlights of the countless times virtual employees and consultants have overachieved when given a task:

  • 3-Day turnaround (and win!) of a $1M+ RFP that employed Graphic Designers, a Copywriter, a Production Artist, an Editor, and a Project Manager.
  • Development of 100+ learning modules in record 4-month timeline. This team consisted of Instructional Designers, Content Developers, Graphic Designers/Presentation Designers, Editors, and a Project Manager.
  • Established an efficient process to produce an annual 200+ page catalog that saved the client over 50% of their prior-year budget with a virtual team consisting of a Production Artist, Graphic Designer, Copywriter, Editor, and a Project Manager.
  • Tasked with identifying a resource or team to script, design, and develop an animated Marketing Video with a limited budget. This small team was assembled in less than a day and consisted of an experienced Script Writer, Animator/Motion Designer, and Voiceover Talent. The video was wildly successful with senior leadership and adopted by the corporate Sales Team to present an engaging sales approach.

Whether working with a virtual team member is new to you or second nature, our team and our creative network of over 15,0000+ creatives have proven expertise in making sure that any assignment can be completed on time, on budget, and with quality finesse.

We’re here to help find the right opportunities and match them with the right creatives - no project is too big or too small!
