What the Job is:
The Graphic Designer will be part of an exciting Digital Marketing team whose objective is to maximize our impact in the digital space and increase lead generation and overall engagement levels. The Graphic Designer will work primarily as a member of our Creative Services group to conceptualize, design, and develop print and digital marketing collateral in support of our Sales and Marketing divisions, both domestic and international, as well as provide design support to various other departments including Technical Service, Human Resources, and Engineering.

Responsibilities

-Responsible for creating designs, concepts, and layouts to be used in a variety of projects across multiple formats—digital, video, print, and presentation—and for multiple channels
-Produce multiple types of technical documentation, such as illustrations, drawings, instruction sheets, installation manuals, etc.
-Operate various in‐house equipment (must be willing to learn) including:
-Multi-purpose Canon ImagePress color press and Konica Minolta B&W printer
-Large format printers
-Small and large format scanners
-Laminators, spiral bookbinding, perfect binding, creaser, three-side book trimming system, and three-hole drill press
-Responsible for all phases of spec’ing, quoting, planning (workflow management and vendor negotiation), processing, and payment of invoices for print buying.
-Will be required to develop templates and paginate files using the EasyCatalog InDesign plugin connector for all future literature projects that will link specifications and photos to the Salsify Product Information Management System.

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or similar field required.
-Two or more years of related experience required.
-Five or more years of related experience preferred.
-Ability to multi‐task between various formats, channels, projects, and company divisions.
-Ability to train other team members and shuffle between multiple projects within the department.
-May be required to engage in product loadouts and staging from time to time.
-Knowledge of, and experience with, EasyCatalog, Blender, FileMaker Pro, and digital asset management systems would be helpful but not required.
-Strong abilities and proficiency in the Mac OS X operating system
-Mastery of the following design applications:
-Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Bridge
-Adobe Acrobat DC
-Presentation programs such as Keynote and PowerPoint
-Knowledge of four‐color printing process—preflight and collection of materials for projects printed by third-party companies.
-Knowledge of graphic design elements using font management, illustrations, and photography (outlining images and photo-manipulating skills required).
Self-discipline with the ability to plan, schedule, organize, monitor, and administrate various projects concurrently to meet production schedules with very tight deadlines.
-Ability to work with third-party translators to convert English literature projects to languages such as Spanish, German, Dutch, French, Arabic, etc.; placing translation copy into original layout document will be required.
-Requires innovation/initiative to develop new ideas and alternative methods and suggest different procedures to enhance current operations.
-Requires the ability to analyze information and evaluate all options to achieve the best solutions to various design or departmental challenges.
