If you are a quality control expert that is comfortable operating print machinery and managing a small team - your dream job awaits. Our print-centric design firm is in search of a Production Manager to schedule and oversee all printer related pieces and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Direct, oversee and manage day-to-day activities of the Production department – coordinate
hiring, separation, development, onboarding and oversee training as applicable

Identify opportunities for departmental improvements, including being proactive about new
technologies and other ways to improve quality and efficiency

Leads team huddles on a weekly basis to continually develop the department

Maintain and update departmental documentation (manuals, checklists, etc.) and ensure
compliance with policies

Establish and maintain a plan for employee recognition, reward, and retention

Collaborate with COO on salaries and compensation within the department

Meet with direct reports on a quarterly basis

Schedule and lead department meetings

Meet with COO to review department successes and challenges

Meet weekly with Senior Creative Director and Project Manager Department Leader to discuss
successes and challenges within and between departments, and refine process improvements.
Printing and Production Stage

Receives and reviews the final client proof from Design Department (once mechanical has been
released). For complex jobs, reviews final proof with designer and talks through Production
needs.

Handles communication with printers regarding printer deadlines and quality expectations.

Oversees and coordinates print materials traveling to and from print vendors

Foster and maintain positive vendor relationships, sourcing and fostering new print vendors, as
needed.

Oversees inventory of in-house stocked items.

Work with COO to strategize cost efficiencies in printing.

Oversees quality control in conjunction with the Design Department.

Oversees Print Mechanical Artist and Machine Calligrapher’s Traffic Board for priorities

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
2+ years in a Managerial Role
