Let’s Play MATCH ME UP!

That’s right folks, it’s time to play everybody’s favorite online artist-job game show – Match Me Up! It’s the game where Creatives On Call gets to find the best contestants and place them in the right work environments. I’m your host, Chip Sportcoat, and before we get started let’s go over some of the rules for all of our artists to get the most out of their Creatives On Call experience.

First impressions are extremely important for any contestant in Match Me Up, and that means a rocking profile! Your Creatives On Call profile is your calling card to the client world, so make sure it is 100% complete and as detailed as possible. We want to know exactly what kind of skills you offer so we can find the right match to suit them. Confidentiality is assured, so be honest in what information is given. Providing examples of previous work is also essential, so don’t be shy with that portfolio work as well! And finally, come see us; a meeting with COC is your chance to pitch yourself in person to the people who are working to make that perfect match.

Now you might be saying “Hey Mr. Sportcoat (please, call me Chip), I’ve got my profile complete with a great portfolio. Do I Win now?”. Well, it’s not that easy, contestants. That profile needs to be tended to like a garden – make sure you’re logging in to the COC site on a regular basis. You’ll find job listings to peruse, new skill tests to complete, helpful tips and articles to aid in your search and much more. Logging in frequently also keeps you squarely in our field of vision. The more we see you logged in, the more likely your name will be the first we think of when a new opening comes along. Also, while you’re on the site, make sure to update your profile with any new experience or revised job preferences you may have. Stop in and meet with us every so often as well, it keeps us in the loop. Oh, and apply early and often for the job you want. This game loves go-getters!

One last guideline before we begin – know the job you’re right for! Don’t be unrealistic in your goals, or you might be disappointed in the result. Only apply for jobs that you have the appropriate skills to attain and excel in, otherwise matchmaking will be a wasted effort. And make sure compensation requirements aren’t too inflexible. Maybe that fantastic job opening doesn’t exactly meet the desired salary, but it’d be a shame to lose out over a few dollars here or there.

So there you have it, contestants. Our job is finding your job, so we work for you. This game can take a little time and effort, but it pays off in the end. So are you ready? Then let’s play Match Me Up!
